What I've Been Up to Lately

My March has been great! A couple of weeks ago I ended up flying down to Philly and had my first duo with my lovely friend Gia Lucia. I ate yummy food (had some interesting looking fries, well more like potatoes, but all fries are technically potatoes) and had tasty mocktails. I will be back in Philly next month for my birthday!
Now at home I'm preparing my garden for this year's gardening season! I'm super excited! This week I bought a bunch of dahlia tubers (one of my favorite flowers) and phlox. Will be planting those once we finally have our last frost, should be by early next month! I will most likely be headed to Home Depot or Lowe's next week to buy some violas and pansies, since only a few reseeded this year. I tried looking for them this week, but seems like it's too early. I will also be ordering strawberry starters since unfortunately they all died late last summer since I had surgery last year, was unable to walk for 2 months, and therefore couldn't water them. :( I'm planning on growing lots of zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, tomatillos, peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, maybe corn (those darn squirrels always eat them), and so many other things! Did you know the legendary Martha Stewart has released a rose named after her? Wish I had the space to grow it cause it is beautiful! I plan on putting my bird feeder out. I love looking at the cardinals and blue jays that pass by for their feast. Those common grackles always end up bullying other birds when they arrive!
As for goals I currently have, I really should get my learners permit. I had a permit before, but let it expire. Would love to drive by the end of the year, but the way New Englanders drive terrifies me! Looking at getting a Toyota, Honda, or Subaru. Love nice cars, looking at you Porsche Cayenne and Mini Cooper, but prefer to have a reliable car that won't cause me a headache. I would also like to read more. I have been slacking in the reading department! Always looking for a good book recommendation!
Thank you for reading along and hope you have an amazing rest of March! Was thinking of writing about another one of my favorite pastimes, cooking, but I will save that for another blogpost. Excited for the warm weather we have ahead! Below is a cute pic of me from Philly!
